Kathleen M. Phillips, is a founding partner of the firm and has dedicated her practice of more than 40 years to union-side labor and employee benefits law.  She represents both public and private sector labor unions in all aspects including internal union activities and governance, as well as labor and management relations and disputes.  She has successfully handled hundreds of cases including arbitrations, negotiations, strategic campaigns, administrative hearings, and state and federal litigation involving Title VII, Section 1983 and discrimination issues.

In addition to traditional union-side labor matters, she has extensive experience in, among other things, advising employee benefits fund trustees regarding the application of ERISA, preparing trust documents, ensuring plan compliance with appropriate regulations, negotiating contracts, strategically representing trust funds in state and federal suits, advising on developments, and representing employee benefit trust funds before investigative agencies such as the Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service.

Above all, Ms. Phillips is a fierce advocate for her labor clients. She brings analytical skills and advocacy to each of her cases and is relentless in her pursuit of workplace justice.
